This is the short and the long of it.

Well. When last we spoke I was in the final throes of revision ... I'm now graduated, settled in back at my parents' house and have started the master's. I'm also, despite my best efforts over the last four months, still unemployed. I'm living the graduate dream.

I've applied for admin jobs, shop jobs, call-centre jobs, Christmas temp work, cleaning jobs ... basically anything that I can do part-time to fit around my studies. And out of all that wasted paper I've had one solitary rejection. From the Early Learning Centre. At least they were kind enough to get back to me.

Fortunately I had the foresight to put aside the money for tuition fees, and it's not like I'm paying rent at the moment, but day-to-day living is becoming tricky. It costs an inordinate amount of money to get to London to use the library. I need some winter clothes. Christmas is coming. And, most importantly, I want to start saving up to get out of Essex.

So, for now I'll keep plugging away, ever hopeful that Asda will require someone with a first-class degree to stack shelves sometime soon. There's only so much daytime TV I can handle.
